The goal of this presentation is to reflect on the challenges posed by Virtual Reality when designing immersive experiences in which the storytelling is the main core. The 4 functions that the user can assume will be defined first and then the existing challenges will be exposed, among which the following will be analyzed: The difficulty to identify with characters represented in first person view and the responsibility that it puts in place, the handling of the distractions and the environment so that they do not overshadow the storytelling, the return to a slower narrative rhythm than the one used today, and the user's freedom of movement.
